The Huia
An AI reconstruction of the New Zealand Huia - Heteralocha acutirosis.
The Huia is an extinct New Zealand wattlebird, prized for its beautiful feathers and renowned for having pronounced dimorphism in bill shape between sexes, it was endemic to the north island.
The last known sighting was in 1907 and its song exists only as a reconstruction from the whistle of a maori hunter with living memory of its call.
