The Thylacine, or Tazmanian Tiger, (Thylacinus cynocephalus) is carnivorous marsupial, presumed extinct, it was the only species of Thylacinidae to survive into modern times and unconfirmed sightings persist to this day both in Tazmania, and in northern NSW.
